Good news: N.Va. Water Restrictions Lifted As Area's Cleanup Progresses (washingtonpost.com)

The Fairfax County Water Authority lifted drinking water restrictions last night after results from two rounds of random testing showed that the water system had not been contaminated. Residents can now turn on the tap and drink the water safely, officials said.

"We were glad we were able to wind it up today so that people can start the workweek knowing everything is all right. And it turns out it was all right all along," said James A. Warfield Jr., the authority's executive director. "All the samples came back clean."
