Taxation Without Representation FieldBest idea I've heard all week -- the naming rights for the DC baseball park are up for bid, and a group of citizens wants it to be:Taxation Without Representation Field at RFK Stadium "We are delighted that baseball is returning to DC, and we hope to bring another hallowed American tradition to our city - democracy," said John Hlinko, co-founder of the group. "We've gone two centuries without Congressional representation, and I think we're all getting tired of ‘wait ‘til next year.'"They're just asking for pledges right now; they won't ask people to make good on it unless/until the bid gets high enough to be accepted. Of course, the media will probably just call it "TWR Field" anyway, but: I love it. 1 comment(s) I wonder if it's the same group that tried to have "Taxation Without Representation" as the official slogan on D.C. license plates a few years back.Add a comment... |
