permlink GTD quotes

Been making my way through David Allen's Getting Things Done, a book full of productivity advice that Medley's a fan of. He's got a lot of good ideas, and doesn't require you to buy into an expensive system or use a particular gadget to improve your life (which is a real plus for his credibility). Instead he flatters the reader with the (pretty correct) observation that you already have the skills you need to be amazingly productive -- you just need a way to free your mind up so use your existing talents much more efficiently. I'll probably be trying several of his techniques in the next little while.

But the point of this post is to grab a few of the pithy quotes from his sidebars:
"If you're not sure why you're doing something, you can never do enough of it." (from the author)

"Celebrate any progress. Don't wait to get perfect." -- Ann McGee Cooper

"Simple, clear purpose and principles give rise to complex and intelligent behavior. Complex rules and regulations give rise to simple and stupid behavior." -- Dee Hock

"Fanaticism consists of redoubling your efforts when you have forgotten your aim." -- George Santayana

permlink Drilling in ANWR will do what, exactly?

ArchPundit: Question to Those Who Support Drilling in ANWR
If OPEC can't significantly affect the price of oil when it can increase supply by 1.5 million barrels a day, how is ANWR supposed to do that when estimates put the maximum barrels a day at 876,000 in 2025?

Just curious.
Yeah, that's a pretty good question. permlink
