Laptops

Endorsement of the day: If I were to buy a laptop today and I cared most about weight and cost, I'd buy this one: Apple PowerBook G4, 1.33GHz, 60GB HD, 256 MB RAM, Combo DVD/CD-RW drive. There's a rebate form that gets you $150 off if you buy before 9/26, making it a better deal than you can get pretty much anywhere else.

Then I'd add a gig of RAM from, say, OWC.

If I cared about screen space and cost were no object, though, I'd nab the 15" with the backlit keyboard. The 17" is theoretically awesome but (I think) would feel too huge in some mobile computing contexts.
