DNS shenanigans

Yet another camouflaging trick in a spam message: using a common domain as the prefix to a bogus one. If you have control over your domain's DNS entries, you can do this (which I received several of today):

• http://www3.cnn.com.[spammer-domain].com/menu.html

Plenty of people will probably just read up to the '.com' and happily click on it.

I doubt CNN has much recourse for this kind of thing.     1 comment(s)
