Eh.Bother.My two-and-a-half-year-old Powerbook G4 is giving me a hard time. The screen hinges are starting to crack and get stiff, meaning that I don't feel good about moving/stressing the screen at all, meaning that I just leave the machine open, meaning that it's really not a portable computer any more. I don't want to pay the $900+ ($400 on Ebay) it would take to fix a snapped-off screen for this old dog, so I'll just use it as a desktop machine in my office for now and contemplate a replacement mobile solution at my leisure. Apple could make such contemplation more enjoyable if they would get with it and release the 15" aluminum Powerbook which has been ready for months... Plblbtht. They've waited long enough, they could probably stick a G5 in it. 1 comment(s) Yeah, I'm looking forward to the 15" too (12 too small, 17 too big/expensive). I like the Aluminum design of those two more than the older TiBook design (more like the well-designed iBook enclosure), and I think 15 is a good size for me.Add a comment... |
