Math Test for Journalists

Via thescoop.org: Math Test for Journalists [IRE Education]. I made a dumb mistake and only got 12 out of 13 (I doubled my already-rounded figure for #9 instead of doubling-then-rounding, so my answer was off by 10,000 [or 7%]).

I'd be curious to see the scores of the on-air talent of various TV news shows, morning shows, etc. Or of congresspeople. But then I'm a stickler for knowing basic math.     1 comment(s)

 Peg Phillips/Ruth-Anne obit

RIP, Ruth-Anne: Peg Phillips, 'Northern Exposure' Actress, Dies at 84 [NY Times, via Webcrumbs]

The show began as a summer replacement series but became so popular it ran through 1995. Similarly, Ms. Phillips made her character so popular she was given a regular role.

I don't know, but I think the list at the bottom of this page is your best bet. (Later...) Oops, this one looks more useful: "The music guides don't mention the music playing while Ed and Ruth-Anne are dancing on her grave but I think it is a David Schwartz piece. He does a lot of the [instrumental music] for the show."
