Oh, good gravy. I don't yet have the capability to take screenshots of our TV, so just believe me, I'm not making this up: on tonight's rerun of the LA Law movie, the following text was smeared across the bottom (TiVo's holding it still for me so I can get it right): "Frasier -- Nile and Daphne Wedding Tuesay 9/8c". Is this any way to run a railroad? I guess all the people who can spell their own characters' names and the days of the week have been voted off the production team.

Yeesh.

Sometimes, when I see some bigshot (politician, entertainer or other public figure) acting all delusional and paranoid and (to all appearances) living in a world where simple english words and phrases no longer mean to them what they mean to the rest of us, I harken back to an exchange from Cerebus (from when it was really good, the 1980s) and give them some benefit of the doubt: ...but then, when such people so clearly act against their own interests and come up with vastly-dumber-than-usual and/or truly incomprehensible ravings which permanently alienate people who (at least part of the time) used to be on their side... then I begin to believe it's not an act.
