koyaanisqatsiThat sshuk sound you may have heard is the sound of an item being slammed into my want list the moment I was made aware of it: Oh my goodness, Koyaanisqatsi is finally being made available on DVD (coming September 12) ... and it includes the sequel Powaqqatsi (which I haven't seen) to make it a 2-disc set. Awesome.Curious parties can visit the obvious domain to learn about the project. 3 comment(s) Hey Steve, Have you seen the film Baraka? It's along the same lines, and came out on DVD last year. Worth a look if you're really into Koyaanisqatsi. -KcM Never heard of it. I just read about it; probably worth renting... Oh yes, you must see Baraka. Some of the camera work goes far beyond the *qatsi films; much more technically sophisticated and utterly breathtaking. Also (despite what the IMdB says), it doesn't have the same subtle-as-a-sledgehammer political approach.Add a comment... |
