13 April 2001

Righty then. Friday the 13th. What better time to get back to posting? And, what better day to pay your taxes? That's what we did, anyway.

Going to try something different, hopefully to improve my posting efficiency: don't say so much about each thing, just post links, links, links (I have a big backlog)...

Bah: Technology industry aims to render MP3 obsolete [MSNBC/WSJ]

They Might Be Giants update [CNN]

Toddlers will be frisked at White House egg race [The Times] Note that three-inch knives are still OK... ?

Apple's DVD-creation system is getting good reviews, saying it's pricier than the Compaq equivalent but significantly nicer to use:

State of the Art: Videodiscs With You as Director [NY Times]

Send Home Movies to Grandma With DVD-Recording Software by Walter S. Mossberg [WSJ]

Implications of the game Black and White for modern theology [Brunching Shuttlecocks]

All Your Bass... [Museum of Depressionist Art, via peterme]

Somehow "all of your bases now belong to CATS" doesn't have the same ring... for the rest of the proper translation, see the Zero Wing FAQ [GameFAQs].

(The site says one shouldn't link directly to the FAQ file, so I'm not, but sheesh, what a lame thing to attempt to restrict. It's the web: if it's addressable, it's linkable. Yeesh.)

More soon.
